The Creative Nature Festival is a countrywide event that takes place in early June. The festival is organised by the University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Gardens in co-operation with partners that include nature education centres, nature societies, recreational centres and many more. The goal of the Creative Nature Festival is to bring attention to the importance of nature in an urban environment and to value biodiversity all around us.
The Nature Observation Marathon is one of the main events of the festival. During 24 hours, people across Estonia and beyond take part in an amateur science event, making nature observations on pre-registered observation areas and registering them in a central database.
The Creative Nature Festival 2026 takes place from 3rd to 7th June.
