On 3 June, the University of Tartu Botanical Garden is organising a traditional garden day where you can learn about exciting plants and buy your favourites. This year's Garden Day is dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the University of Tartu Botanical Garden.
Spring gardening season is here and it's a good time to check out exciting plant trends, ask for gardening advice and find new plant residents for your garden. The thirteenth annual gathering of plant lovers at the Botanical Garden will take place on Saturday 3 June from 10 AM to 3 PM. Every garden enthusiast can find something to add to their home garden at the Botanical Garden's Garden Day.
On the garden day at 11:30 AM, visitors will also have the opportunity to attend a lecture by gardener Riho Teras entitled "From the gooseberry to the heather, not forgetting the tundra gooseberry - exciting heaths for the home garden". Teras will give guidance and tips on what to look out for when buying seedlings and how to grow heaths in the home garden. The lecture will be in Estonian.
On the garden day, plants will be sold by a number of plants growers. Present this time: Anne Kähr-Haller, Asu Farm, Ellen Rajatalu, Elise Garden, Enno Farm, Haideaed, Helga Nursery, Helle Treier, Kaevandi Garden, Karin Haav, Leanne Garden and Home, Järvselja Nursery, Mädapea Manor, Nõo Garden Nursery, Nõrga Farm, Rebase Farm Nursery, Riho Teras, Risttee Farm, Signe Lilled, Sommerista Garden, Sulev Savisaar, Valgeanso Farm, Vanaema Garden, Viktors Goba. The University of Tartu Botanical Garden will also be exhibiting a selection of plants that you can buy to take home.
The XIIIth Garden Day of the University of Tartu Botanical Garden will take place on 3 June from 10 AM to 3 PM. Admission is free. You can also visit the botanic garden's greenhouses and see the new exhibition dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the Botanical Garden. A ticket is required to visit the greenhouses and the exhibition.
