Starting from February, the DNA collections from the University of Tartu Natural History Museum will be accessible through the Global Genome Biodiversity Network (GGBN) portal.

Reet Mägi, Jaanika Anderson and Külli Lupkin will be ICOM Estonia National Committee members for the next three years.

For the sixth time, the Nature Observation Marathon took place on 10-11 June as part of the ninth Nature Festival programme. Over 24 hours, nature lovers made more than 7,700 nature observations. All observations are public on the eBiodiversity Portal.

Natural Science Institutes from Europe sent a letter to ministers and MEPs asking them to stand up for nature. The University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden also signed the letter, represented by Director Urmas Kõljalg.

On 15 May, the University of Tartu Museum and the University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden were given the Green Museum certificate.
