Estonia's most species-dense garden, The University of Tartu Botanical Garden, celebrated its 220th anniversary in June. The celebrations started with the Nature Festival, which this year took place from 7 to 11 June across Estonia, and continued with a big party on 27 June.

Natural Science Institutes from Europe sent a letter to ministers and MEPs asking them to stand up for nature. The University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden also signed the letter, represented by Director Urmas Kõljalg.

The ninth annual Nature Festival focuses on the beauty and wildlife of gardens. It will take place from 7 to 11 June. Proposals from co-organisers are accepted until 31 March.

The UT Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden's popular educational programmes in cooperation with the Vanemuine Theatre and the Yellow Cats take place in February, March and April.

"Rukkirääk" is a podcast with a 20-minute nature-themed programme on the last Tuesday of every month. The first programme of the second season will focus on the popularisation of science.
