Take part in the curatorial tour of the exhibition "The Pleasures and Pains of Pollination"

On Saturday 28 January we invite you to participate in the curatorial tour of the exhibition "The Pleasures and Pains of Pollination". The tour is led by exhibition curator Veljo Runnel.

The University of Tartu Natural History Museum's temporary exhibition "The Pleasures and Pains of Pollination" focuses on insect pollinators and their importance.

The exhibition introduces the diversity of insects that pollinate plants, their fascinating adaptations, and also the threats posed by human activity to both insects and the plants that depend on them. The exhibition reminds us that the preservation of this wealth is now largely in the hands of humankind.

The exhibition focuses on insects, as they do the lion's share of the work in pollinating plants. Insects in general are a very fascinating bunch. If you look hard enough, you can see a whole world reflected in the relationships between insect species.

In the outdoor area of the University of Tartu Botanical Garden, information boards show which plants and insectivores have adapted. The locations of the information boards are marked on a leaflet available at the Botanical Garden Visitor Centre.

A curatorial tour with Veljo Runnel will take place on 28 January at 12 p.m. at the University of Tartu Natural History Museum in the temporary exhibition hall. The exhibition "The Pleasures and Pains of Pollination" will remain open until 28 February.

The exhibition was supported by the SA Environmental Investment Centre.
